Kamenashi Kazuya

Kazuya Kamenashi is the youngest member of KAT-TUN. Often described as the most dependable, he serves as co-lead vocalist with Akanishi. He is noted for his talent in baseball, having once represented Japan in a world tournament as a child though he had to give up dreams of playing professionally after joining JE. Kamenashi debuted before the rest of the group as part of Shūji to Akira whose only song, "Seishun Amigo", became 2005's number one single in Japan with over 1.6 million copies sold to date. An established actor with award-winning performances in television dramas Nobuta wo Produce and Gokusen 2, he has also appeared in Yuuki, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi, Suppli and 1 Pound no Fukuin.
Kamenashi Kazuya,Also known as Kame, Kame-chan, Kamenashi-kun, Kazu-chan was born in February 23, 1986 (age 22). He was born at Origin Edogawa, Tokyo, Japan. Kame is a japanese singer, japanese idol, songwriter, actor, television personality and radio host.He joined the renowned Japanese talent agency, Johnny & Associates, at the age of 12 and was drafted as a member and lead vocalist of the popular J-pop group KAT-TUN in 2001. The group officially debuted in 2006 and has since achieved a string of chart successes with all three albums and seven singles reaching number 1 on the Oricon charts.Kamenashi has also established himself as an actor with award-winning roles in Nobuta o Produce and the second season of Gokusen and has regularly appeared in various television dramas since 2005. He is also a co-host of KAT-TUN's late-night NTV variety/talk show, Cartoon KAT-TUN, and a radio host with his own program aired by Nippon Cultural Broadcasting.
Kamenashi is the third child of his parents. He has two older brothers, Yūichirō and Kōji, and one younger brother, Yūya. He also has one niece from his second brother's marriage. His given name comes from a character from the manga, Touch, written by a famous mangaka, Mitsuru Adachi. Incidentally, bandmate Tatsuya Ueda was also named after the twin brother of Kamenashi's namesake. An avid baseball fan and player like his namesake, Kamenashi once represented his country in the junior world league as shortstop though he had to give up the sport professionally due to lack of spare time after he was accepted into Johnny's Entertainment despite having the support of Johnny Kitagawa, the agency's president, to pursue both careers. During the audition stages for the agency, he was coincidentally in the same interview group as current KAT-TUN bandmates, Jin Akanishi and Yuichi Nakamaru.
Pre-debut
Made up of five other members (Akanishi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Ueda and Nakamaru), Kamenashi is the "K" of KAT-TUN and together with Akanishi, he is one of the two main vocalists and arguably the most popular members of the group. Although he is the youngest of the six, he is considered their unofficial front man being good at public speaking and often acting as MC for KAT-TUN on television programs and concerts.
Though the group was originally chosen and formed as backup dancers for Kōichi Dōmoto of KinKi Kids in 2001, their unexpected popularity led the talent agency to allow them to expand into a separate group which, strangely enough, was not allowed to make their debut until 5 years after their formation. Nakamaru later indicated that over time, the group had become increasingly worried that they would never be an established act and Kamenashi and Akanishi went to their agency's president to talk about the problem. They received assurances that the members needed only to concentrate on their present work and were told to keep the faith.
[edit] Solo ventures
In 2005, Kamenashi co-starred in the television school drama, Nobuta wo Produce, with Tomohisa Yamashita of NEWS. The opening theme for the show, Seishun Amigo, was released as a single under the name Shūji to Akira ("Shūji and Akira"), after the names of their respective characters. Seishun Amigo was a massive hit debuting at number 1 upon its release on November 2, 2005 and sold more than 1 million copies in less than 4 weeks. It went on to spend 34 weeks in the Oricon weekly singles chart and became the best-selling single of 2005 in Japan. The song also continued its lengthy chart run into early 2006 and became the third best-selling song of 2006. Kamenashi has also written and performed a song named Kizuna for the second season of Gokusen which was one of the B-sides on the Seishun Amigo single and also penned a duet with bandmate Junnosuke Taguchi called Special Happiness.
Commercial success with KAT-TUN
KAT-TUN's vast fanbase made it one of Japan's most prominent J-pop idol groups by 2006 and the group officially debuted on March 22, 2006 with their single "Real Face", which debuted at number 1 on the Oricon weekly singles charts selling over more than 700,000 copies before going on to sell more than a million units by the end of the year. Their debut album, Best of KAT-TUN, featuring songs made popular during their live performances and some which were written for the album, sold more than 500,000 copies in its first week and also topped the Oricon album chart. Two singles from KAT-TUN's second album, "Signal" and "Bokura no Machi de", debuted at number 1 upon their releases selling more than 400,000 units in July and December 2006 respectively in the first week. Two weeks before the release of the album, the group's late-night talk show, Cartoon KAT-TUN, began airing on April 4, 2007 and is still broadcasted weekly on Wednesday nights on NTV. Their sophomore record, Cartoon KAT-TUN II You, was released on April 18, 2007 and continued their chart-topping act when it debuted at number 1 with more than 270,000 copies sold. KAT-TUN's extraordinary run on the charts continued when singles from KAT-TUN's third album, "Yorokobi no Uta", "Keep the Faith" and "Lips" all debuted at number 1 in June 2007, November 2007 and February 2008 respectively selling more than 1 million units altogether before the group's third album, KAT-TUN III -Queen of Pirates-, was released in June 2008. Their third original album again peaked at number 1 upon its release moving more than 240,000 copies in its first week. The group's seventh single, "Don't U Ever Stop", continued their success on the music charts when it debuted at number 1 selling 381,672 copies. As of July 2008, KAT-TUN has sold over 5 million records in just over two years.
Akanishi Jin

Jin Akanishi (赤西 仁, Akanishi Jin?) (born July 4, 1984) is a Japanese idol, singer-songwriter, actor, seiyū and television personality. Akanishi is a member of the popular J-pop boy band, KAT-TUN, and one of the group's main vocalists. Since the group's debut in 2006, it has achieved 10 consecutive number ones (including studio albums) on the Oricon charts.
in Akanishi is the second lead vocalist. And main voice in KAT-TUN. He went on hiatus from October 2006 to April 2007 to study English in Los Angeles just as KAT-TUN were six months into their debut. Most of the group's second studio album did not feature him due to his absence. Akanishi plays the guitar and is a budding songwriter having written several songs for the group and himself. Also an actor, he has had roles in Gokusen 2, Anego, Yukan Club and made his debut as a seiyū in 2008 providing the voice for Speed Racer in the Japanese-dubbed version of Speed Racer, and this year he has his first lead role in a movie "BANDAGE" with release date 2010.
Akanishi is also a budding actor with roles in the second season of popular NTV school drama, Gokusen, and Yukan Club. He is also a co-host of KAT-TUN's own variety show, Cartoon KAT-TUN, and used to host a radio program called R-One KAT-TUN with bandmate Junnosuke Taguchi from October 2007 to March 2008. Akanishi is also arguably one of the more popular members of the group being frequently cited as one of the most appealing male celebrities in Japan today.
Born in Chiba Prefecture on July 4, 1984, Akanishi is the eldest child. His family consists of his parents and a younger brother, Reiho. His given name, Jin ("benevolence"), comes from one of the five Confucian virtues. He is also the childhood best friend of Tomohisa Yamashita and the two remain close today. When he was still in grade school, a classmate sent in a photo of him to idol magazine, Myojo, and he was featured in the "Cool Classmates" corner of the issue. Akanishi's interest in the entertainment industry was piqued after seeing then-Johnny's Jr. member Ryo Nishikido singing on television and his mother sent in an application to Johnny's Entertainment on his behalf. Though he technically failed his audition on November 8, 1998, he was told to stay when he tried to return his number plate to a man who happened to be Johnny Kitagawa himself.
2001-present: KAT-TUN
After he was made a Johnny's Jr. member in 2000, Akanishi was part of a number of groups like Musical Academy Dancing, J2000 and B.A.D. before being drafted into a six-member unit in 2001 with other juniors Kazuya Kamenashi, Junnosuke Taguchi, Koki Tanaka, Tatsuya Ueda and Yuichi Nakamaru. Though the group was originally meant to only be backup dancers for Koichi Domoto of KinKi Kids, the sextet's unexpected popularity led their agency to allow them to expand into a separate group called KAT-TUN, an acronym formed by the first letter of the members' surnames. Despite the group's popularity (they even released DVDs of their live concerts in 2003 and 2005 -- a first for JE groups that hadn't debuted), they were not allowed to make their bow until five years later.
KAT-TUN's debut on March 22, 2006 was marked by a tripartite release of their debut single, debut album and a DVD chronicling the making of their first music video. All three releases were immensely successful on the Oricon charts with "Real Face" and "Real Face Film" certified as the best-selling single and domestic music DVD of 2006 respectively. The group's next single, "SIGNAL", was also a massive hit debuting at number 1 and selling more than 500,000 copies.
Much to the Japanese public's surprise, Akanishi announced in a press conference on October 13, 2006 that he was leaving the country to study English abroad for an indefinite amount of time. Despite his absence, KAT-TUN were obliged to continue its activites and released their third single and second studio album, "Bokura no Machi de" and Cartoon KAT-TUN II You, which both topped the charts. Akanishi finally returned from Los Angeles after six months on April 19, 2007 and quickly resumed work by joining his bandmates on their nationwide tour on April 21. All of KAT-TUN's subsequent singles and albums have since debuted at number 1 and the band has sold more than 5 million records in just over two years.
Akanishi is also a songwriter having written songs for KAT-TUN and for himself, including "care", "Hesitate", "Love or Like" and "Lovejuice". He can play the guitar and has composed both music and lyrics for "Murasaki (ムラサキ, Murasaki)", "ha-ha", and "Pinky". He also collaborated with bandmate Ueda to create the song "Butterfly".

His height is 170 cm n weight 55 kg.Kōki Tanaka performs most of the rap lyrics, which he writes himself. Though he wanted to leave KAT-TUN when it was first formed, he changed his mind after the group held their first concert. Influenced by hip-hop and reggae at an early age, he found the task of rapping in an idol group made easier due to Shō Sakurai's breakthrough for Arashi. Artistically inclined, Tanaka can illustrate well and designs his own apparel. With bandmate Nakamaru, they made up a comedic unit, TaNaka (a portmanteau of their surnames)unit resurrected in their latest concerts. An actor who won multiple awards for his performance in My Boss, My Hero, he has also appeared in Byakkotai, Tatta Hitotsu no Koi and took on his first lead role in 2007 in Tokkyu Tanaka 3 Go.

He's got so much to say with no one to listen. He can't put things into words easily. He's a family man. With Yuichi Nakamaru, they make up a comedic unit called TaNaka (Tanaka; Nakamaru). He was voted by members of Johnny's Jr. as the most father-like member during a feature on The Shounen Club called "KAT-TUN wo Abake". ("He looks like he'll protect me from the bad guys", "He probably won't get mad at me even if I get 0 marks for a test" etc.).
Ueda Tatsuya

Tatsuya Ueda is the quietest member and he rarely speaks unless spoken to. Ironically, he chose to become KAT-TUN's leader at first but later quit because he could not handle being scolded during dance rehearsals, also denoting his sensitive nature. Ueda plays the piano and guitar and is an able composer and lyricist, having written songs for the group and himself. He is the first KAT-TUN member to hold a series of solo concerts entitled "Mouse Peace" in September 2008 performing songs across various genres, such as rock, dance, ballad, and folk, all of which he penned himself. Ueda is an avid boxer and has enough skill in the sport for him to be advised by professionals to get a professional boxing license. He is also the only member to have never acted in a full television drama or film to date but will debut on a stage play Romeo and Juliet in March 2009.
Nakamaru Yuichi

Maru is the beatboxer of KATTUN and he has beat box in the most KATTUN songs or concerts. MAru is a peacelover and he is known to stop the fights in KATTUN as well as console others. Whenever kamenashi kazuya and Akanishi jin fight, he locks them into a room until they stop fighting. MAru also has a special techinique when shopping. He follows people who he thinks dress well into their fav shop where he could than shop as well. When he was asked "what if the person you're following isnt going into a clothes shop? he replaid " well, i trust my instincts and if they dont go into a shop, i'll go oit and follow other persons". In May 2008, it was revealed that Nakamaru had enterd Waseda Universiti. Majoring in Environmental Science.
Yuichi Nakamaru is the oldest member of the group. The first JE idol to prominently showcase beatboxing and vocal percussion ability, Nakamaru learned by diligently studying hundreds of examples from hip-hop albums after KAT-TUN was formed. His primary motivation was to set himself apart from the rest of the members since he did not want to be seen as dull.[ He often shares MC duties with Kamenashi but in private, is rather shy and reserved and whose meek nature particularly shows when amongst strangers. He writes his solo songs. He is also the first member to do a solo stage show -- performing songs, dance, beat boxing and skits for two weeks in August 2008.
